Solid Waste District

Mission of the Hancock County Solid Waste Management District

It is the goal of Hancock County to implement a solid waste management plan/system that will effectively reduce the current waste stream by promoting recycling, reclamation, and re-use of materials. It is the intent of the Hancock County Solid Waste Management District (HCSWMD) to provide education for adults and children in Hancock County in order to achieve increased recycling, reclamation and re-use. By achieving this, the need for disposal capacity will be decreased, and natural resources will be used more wisely.
