Planning Commission Functions

The Plan Commission Department administers the County's Land Development Regulations and Zoning Ordinance. Petitions for the Plat Development and Rezonings are filed here and appear before the Plan Commmission Committee. Petitions for Variances and Special Exceptions are filed here and appear before the Board of Zoning Appeals. Petitions for Minor Subdivisions are filed here and appear before the Plat Committee. This department is then responsible for all minutes taken at the above meetings. This department oversees all zoning violations within our jurisdiction. It also issues Improvement of Location Permits. 

Building Department Functions

The Building Department is responsible for issuing electrical, pool, sign, building permits, change of uses and including Commercial Projects and performing all required inspections. They also issue citations for unsafe building codes. For more information see Policies and Procedures.
