Weed Board

The Weed Board is in place to see that noxious weeds that include Canadian Thistle, Johnson grass and shatter cane are eradicated with the entire limits of Hancock County. Also the Board sees that all lots in plated subdivisions are maintained to at least 18 inches in height. If lots are located in the larger cities and towns in the County individuals should call their local city or town office about them.

If noxious weeds are located in the right-of-way call:

If rank vegetation is located in the city limits of Greenfield call:

If rank vegetation is located anywhere else in the County or there are noxious weeds anywhere in the County call:

The Hancock County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is a local unit of state government responsible for the conservation and development of our soil, water, and related natural resources through education, public information, leadership, technical assistance, and development of innovative programs. It was organized on May 24, 1954.
